The latest news on the measures we are taking and what facilities are available

Social distancing and Government advice should be followed by visitors to the park.

What time is the park open?

The Park is open from 8.30 am to 6 pm (these closuer times will change to one hour earlier end of October)

What parking is available?

Parking is available and we are limiting the numbers of vehicles entering the park to ensure social distancing.

We advise arriving early to avoid the disappointment of being turned away if we have reached our capacity.

The last entry for vehicles is 5 pm.

You can only park on the hardstanding areas of the Watersports car park, main car park and the horse trailer / horse box / parking area.

There is no parking on the grass areas at the present time.

How do I pay for parking?

By contactless card on entry to the park. £5 / vehicle

Frequently asked questions

1) Are the toilets open?

The toilets are open during opening hours and are being cleaned regularly throughout the day and may be closed for cleaning during the day.

2) Are the Watersports Activities open?

If entering the Watersports / Activity Centre Building, please wear a face mask or face covering in line with COVID-19 Government Guidelines.

The Watersports activities hire is not operating at the moment.

The Sailing Club and Jet Ski Club have started their activities and we are monitoring social distancing.

3) Can I bring my own Canoe, Kayak, Boat, Paddle Board, Sup and launch on the Main Lake?

Full details of Private Launches on the Main Lake and what you should do and how this will work from Saturday 27th June is available

You must have suitable equipment and your own buoyancy aids we are not hiring any wet suits or buoyancy aids, the changing room facility is closed at the present time.

5) Can I cycle at the park?

You can cycle around the park on your own bike.

Please see the section on the cycle trails for information on the routes available.

The Cycle Hire Centre has re-opened and hire is available 9 am to 3 pm daily.

If entering the cycle centre building, please wear a face mask or face covering in line with COVID-19 Government Guidelines.

Payment is by contactless card. We advise you go to the cycle centre in person to book the cycle on the day when you arrive in the park.

Unfortunately we are not hiring out the child trailers and we do not have child seats to fit to cycles at the current time. 

4) Can I have a BBQ or picnic in the park?

BBQ's are not allowed at the moment, you can bring a picnic

5) Can I ride my horse in the Park?

You can ride your own horse around the paths in the park, you can park your horse box / trailer, we advise arriving early (before 10.30 am) to avoid the parking areas being full when you arrive. You can walk your horse, but please note galloping is not allowed in the park.

6) Is the Park Cafe Open?

The main park cafe is open for a take away service only, we ask that you wear a face mask or face covering when entering the cafe building. The cafe is open 9.30 am to 4 pm daily

The Ice Cream Van contractor is coming into the park daily, Sheffield Cable Waterski have been serving some take away items.

7) Is Fishing allowed at the park?

You can fish at Nethermore Lake, Northern Lake and downstream of the River Rother.

A day ticket can be purchased at the car park entrance by contactless card.

You should have a valid rod licence (You can buy a Rod Licence at the Post Office).

8) Can I launch my Model Boat?

Model boat launches are at Northern Lake, you can pay by contactless card on entry to the park (This facility is not available on a Sunday when Newfoundland Dogs are training in this area).

9) Play Area

The play area has re opened and has certain guidelines to follow when at the park

10) Miniature Train and Animal Farm

Unfortunately, at the present time these areas are not open.
