The countryside offers an invaluable teaching resource whether it’s for early years, or key stages 1 to 4.
Your visit can be used to illustrate many curriculum targets including literacy and mathematics, geography, science, citizenship, art and design, history and PE through learning about the environment and the countryside.
Topics include habitats (
woodland
,
grassland
,
hedgerows
,
lakes and ponds
), plants and animals, conservation management, local history, the human impact on the landscape, and leisure provision.
Our Education Centre provides accommodation for up to 30 pupils and we regularly accept visits of 60 or more students doing a combination of activities including
watersports
(sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, rafting).
For further details of our activities and facilities for schools please download our
teachers pack
(1mb pdf document), which outlines the typical day trips to Rother Valley, we are always willing to tailor visits to meet your individual needs and requirements.
In addition to visits to the park we also visit local schools running activities such as bird and bat box building, environmental games, after school clubs, and advising on conservation projects like wildlife gardens.
